Terms of Service

By downloading, accessing, or using Bilu Store ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Platform.

These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Bilu Store Technology P.L.C., a company incorporated in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

To use Bilu Store, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be a resident of Ethiopia or have a valid Ethiopian address for transactions
• Have a valid phone number capable of receiving SMS verification
• Not have been previously banned from the Platform

Sellers must additionally complete Fayda ID verification before listing items for sale.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must not share your login credentials or allow others to access your account. Bilu Store will never ask for your password. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately at security@bilustore.et.

Each person may hold only one active account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent bans or fees is prohibited and will result in permanent suspension.

Sellers are responsible for accurately describing items listed on the Platform. Listings must:

• Accurately describe the item's condition, features, and any defects
• Use real photographs of the actual item (stock photos are prohibited for used goods)
• State prices clearly in Ethiopian Birr (ETB)
• Not list prohibited items (see Section 7 below)

By listing an item, the seller agrees to honor the sale at the listed price if accepted by a buyer.

All transactions on Bilu Store use our escrow service. By initiating a purchase, buyers agree that:

• Payment will be held in escrow until the buyer confirms receipt and satisfaction
• The buyer has 72 hours after confirmed delivery to approve or dispute the transaction
• Failure to respond within 72 hours constitutes automatic approval and payment release to the seller
• Attempts to circumvent escrow by requesting payment outside the Platform are a violation of these terms

Sellers agree that funds will only be released following buyer confirmation or dispute resolution.

Bilu Store charges a transaction fee on completed sales. The current fee structure is:

• Seller transaction fee: 3.5% of the final sale price (inclusive of ETB)
• No fee is charged on failed transactions, disputes resolved in the buyer's favor, or cancelled orders
• Listing is free — fees are only charged on successful completions

Bilu Store reserves the right to update the fee structure with 30 days' notice to sellers.

The following are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination and potential legal action:

• Listing counterfeit, stolen, or fraudulently obtained goods
• Creating fake listings with no intent to sell
• Requesting payment outside the Platform (escrow bypass)
• Using another person's Fayda ID or impersonating another user
• Listing prohibited items including weapons, controlled substances, or illegal services
• Harassment, threats, or abusive behavior toward other users
• Manipulating reviews or dispute outcomes through false claims

When a buyer opens a dispute, Bilu Store's Trust & Safety team will review all available evidence and make a binding determination. Both parties agree to: provide honest and accurate information during the investigation, respond to requests within 48 hours, and accept Bilu Store's determination as final for amounts up to 50,000 ETB.

For amounts above 50,000 ETB or in cases of alleged criminal conduct, disputes may be referred to Ethiopian courts or regulatory authorities.

The Bilu Store name, logo, app design, and all associated intellectual property are owned by Bilu Store Technology P.L.C. You may not use our branding, copy our design, or create derivative works without written permission.

Content you post (listing photos, descriptions) remains yours. By posting, you grant Bilu Store a non-exclusive license to display that content on the Platform for the purpose of facilitating your transaction.

Bilu Store is a marketplace platform. We facilitate transactions but are not a party to the sale itself. Our liability in connection with any transaction is limited to the escrow amount held in that transaction. We are not liable for losses resulting from user misrepresentation, delivery failures by third parties, or events outside our reasonable control.

Our escrow protection covers the transaction value. For claims above this amount, you may seek recourse through Ethiopian courts.

You may close your account at any time by contacting support. Bilu Store may suspend or terminate your account immediately and without notice for violations of these terms. Pending escrow transactions at the time of termination will be resolved according to the Escrow Policy.

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Any disputes arising from these terms that cannot be resolved through Bilu Store's dispute process will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
